Interview with Krista T.
Empowered Women at Fabick Cat
What brought you to this organization – in essence, why Fabick Cat?
My father started his career at Fabick Cat at the age of 16 and retired at the age of 62, and was a very successful and respected individual. I grew up in Fenton, where Fabick Cat’s Corporate Office is located, and I grew up around the Fabick Family who I had grown very close to.
What are you most proud of?
I am most proud of the where I am today in the company, and what I have accomplished.
What professional advice would you give to your younger self?
Take every opportunity you can get to expand your knowledge of the company you work for. There will come a day where you will be very glad you did so.
What does being a leader at Fabick Cat mean to you?
Being a Leader means helping others accomplish their goals while also accomplishing my own personal goals. It also means being a role model, someone that people can look up to and be honest with, someone with confidence, willpower, someone who is respectful and respected by their coworkers.
What characteristics or attributes do you feel helped you succeed at Fabick Cat? What development opportunities were provided to you, if any?
I began my career at Fabick Cat as a Rental Coordinator. I also worked in Rental Sales for a short period of time. I then moved on to becoming the Rental Operations Manager for Fabick Rents, and then became the Rental Operations Manager of Power Systems Rental. I helped out for a short period in our Service Department when we were short-handed in that area, and I have always said “yes” when asked to participate on a Company Project or Action Planning Committee. Even though it may not seem like it at the time, if given an opportunity to expand your talents, take every opportunity that is handed to you. In the long run, I have learned so much more by helping out in other areas of the organization, and being a part of company projects that have given me light and knowledge to other parts of the business that I may have not otherwise had the opportunity to pursue.
What impact do women have in our organization?
Women in our organization have an innate ability to organize, prioritize, effectively and emotionally communicate within the Fabick Cat Community, which brings a great deal of detail oriented process completion to the sale and/or rental of our products. These attributes add to our ultimate company goal to “Ever Serve Our Customers Better.”
What advice do you have for other women for considering Fabick Cat as a future employer?
I can honestly say, as I have seen first hand, and grown up around the organization, the Fabick Family is a wonderful family to work for. They truly care about each and every individual that is employed at Fabick Cat. Most people can look back and be proud of what they accomplished during their career, not everyone can look back and be proud of who they accomplished them for.
